    The YMCA Supportive Housing Campus is a community solution to help eliminate homelessness by providing hope, dignity, and support in the form of permanent supportive housing.  The campus provides a place to call home for 140 men and women. 

     

    As a Food Service Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to positively impact our tenants by providing nutritional food options.  You will also help lead our many volunteers as they strive to make a difference by preparing meals for our tenants.

    Responsibilities

    1. Plan daily and weekly menus ensuring nutritional goals are met; including ordering and shopping.
    2. Comply with all state and federal regulations related to food service.
    3. Inventory kitchen and pantry items and re-stock as required.
    4. Prepare, package, and serve meals according to weekly/daily needs of tenants.
    5. Prepare reports required by state/federal government and YMCA.
    6. Identify and report all equipment requiring repair and/or maintenance.
    7. Perform custodial duties in kitchen and cafeteria, including weekly deep cleaning tasks, as required by supervisor.
    8. Manage vendor relationships and services.
    9. Manage and supervise volunteer groups.
    10. Facilitate kitchen related inspections.
    11. Monitor assigned budget to ensure revenue and expenses are consistent with approved plan.
    12. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
    13. Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions
    2. One year previous experience in food service
    3. American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED/First Aid Certifications or equivalent certifications approved by the YMCA (Available in the YMCA Training Program)
    4. American Red Cross Blood Borne Pathogens Training or equivalent training approved by the YMCA (Available in the YMCA Training Program)
    5. Y Leaders Orientation Session (Available in the YMCA Training Program)
    6. Y Emergency Procedures Training (Available in the YMCA Training Program)
    7. Y New Employee Safety Training (Available in the YMCA Training Program)

     PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    1. Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate effectively with people and monitor property and activity
    2. Ability to perform moderate physical activity
    3. Ability to adapt to changing working conditions
    4. Ability to operate food service equipment
