    As a Food Service Assistant, you will be responsible for providing assistance to the Food Service Supervisor. You will be a part of prepping and cooking meals for the campers at Y Camp.

    1. Perform general custodial functions, such as dishes, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning.
    2. Perform general cooking and prepping duties as required by supervisor.
    3. Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or designated staff person.
    4. Demonstrate and support the objectives of the Association as embodied in the mission statement and values.



    1. Ability to read, write, and perform simple mathematical functions
    2. Completion of high school or equivalent
    3. Experience working in Food Service
    4. American Red Cross CPR-PR/AED/First Aid Certifications or equivalent certification approved by the YMCA
    5. American Red Cross Blood Borne Pathogens Training or equivalent training approved by the YMCA
    6. Y Orientation Session
    7. Y Emergency Procedures Training



    1. Visual, auditory, and verbal ability to communicate with people and monitor property and activity
    2. Ability to work with a variety of cleaning equipment and tools
    3. Ability to perform moderate physical activity
    4. Ability to lift 50-60 lbs. (lifting full pans of food in and out of ovens, etc)
    5. Ability to adapt to changing working conditions

    4. Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
    5. Ability to work with minimal supervision
    6. Attend trainings and/or courses as required by the YMCA
